NACC wins statewide award for 'Virtual Tour' video

Northeast Alabama Community College in Rainsville, Ala., has won a statewide award for a its 'virtual tour' video project, produced by WordSouth and Town Creek Productions.

The video, available on the college website, features student hosts who guide viewers through the buildings and programs of the college. Susan Barron, Director of High School Relations and Event Planning for NACC, coordinated the project. "Ms. Barron, college president Dr. David Campbell and his assistant Andrea Wheeler, all brought great ideas to the table," says Stephen V. Smith, WordSouth president. "They had a vision for what they wanted to accomplish, and worked closely with us to bring that vision to life. It was an exciting project to work on. We appreciate the opportunity to work with them, and to create a tool that will help prospective students learn more about NACC."

The college received an Award of Achievement in the Electronic Publications category for the video project. The award was presented at the 2010 Summer Conference of the Alabama Community College System Public Relations Association (ACCSPRA). NACC also received four other awards at the conference.
